Hi Darren,

You can talk to anyone on irlp if you have a repeater near you with irlp
access. It is a matter of just entering the node number of the person's
node. The nodes will be connected and you can talk as if you were on the
same local repeater.

You can set up your own irlp node through a computer running the irlp
software connected to a radio. It could be a radio on a simplex frequency
for example your own personal node.

Irlp must run under linux on a dedicated computer. This computer can be
connected to a repeater or your personal radio on a simplex frequency.

I hope this clears up a few things at your end.
