Hi All,
How do I discover my IP address?
I have a wireless printer-copier-fax-scanner, a Brother MFC-7860DW. I've
been using it with my Lenovo all-in-one running Windows 8.0 and Open
Book 9.0.1543. Everything was working fine.
Then I realized I was running Windows 8.0 (my upgrade somehow failed),
so I tried upgrading to Windows 8.1 over the weekend. This time the
upgrade was successful. My system is working fine. I can even print.
But when I tried scanning, OpenBook says my scanner is off. I checked
the scanner selection in Open Book and even reinstalled it. Then I
called FS tech support., and we did the same. The tech suggested I try
updating my scanner drivers, so when we got off the phone, I went into
the Brother utility in search of an easy update button. What I found
instead was a properties button, and in going into that, I discovered my
scanner has no IP address. I don't really understand how this can be
when the printer part is working fine, but I believe it because when I
close the dialog, I get an error telling me to enter an IP address.
The problem is that I don't know my IP address. I had it bookmarked on
my previous computer, but it died suddenly, and I don't have the URL.
I've tried searching for printer properties, hoping to get the IP that
way, but I'm not finding it.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Ciao
