Hi Richard,
I too am interested in the Ameritron solid state amps, from an accessibility
viewpoint. One of these days I'll put something together for the Active
Elements site <smile>. Meantime, AD5X has some superb reviews at:
http://www.ad5x.com/presentations.htm
He looks at both the older and new ALS-600 which can be fitted with an auto
band changer, and he writes on the ALS-1300 too.
Best wishes, Kelvin Marsh - M0AID

Hi;
Thanks for the amplifier info. I guess I should be happy there are no t
v i complaints. Are there two different versions with two different
power supplies? If one has a switching supply wonder if there are any
unwanted side effects?
On an unrelated note, I am the happy owner of a mj88 which is kenwoods
microphone cable adaptor for the ts480. I've gotten some conflicting
info as to whether I have to rewire the thing? Is it usable as is?
Thanks and remember be nice to one another.
