I got computer programming training in 1968. It took till late in
1969 for me to get a job.
Right out of school I got a lot of interviews, but nothing happened until my
grandmother complained to the mayor that he should hire me.
That call got me an interview with the mayor. He asked me if I thought I
could do the work. It was a Friday; he said "come to work Monday morning.":
