Hi Shawn:  
If you got that kind of money, 1800 a year, look for a family or friend, willing to host your own K-3 remote, which you'd own in 5or 6years with no restrictions. 
I ran a remote consisting of a FT-450, remote rig package and ham radio deluxe for 2000CAN and it worked excellent.
