Gery,

The IC7000 has a builtin voice chip that will read out S meter reading,
frequency and mode when you push the talk button. The hand mike that comes
with the 7000 has a telephone style keypad on which you can enter
frequencies and the top left button is a talk button for the voice chip.
The only problem is that the menus give you know feedback other than a
slightly longer beep at the default setting or beginning of a menu. The
menus are multi-level and confusing, but they are useable.
