Yes, its a challenge, my biggest problem is well meaning sighted people 
praising my children for helping me do things like crossing streets.  I have 
to immediately thank them, stop and clearly explain that Parents care for 
and protect children.  I keep them safe, not the other way around.  Its 
important not to expect things that are not age appropriate.  They all 
learned to be very careful street crossers.  If they offer, I consider the 
request, but I didn't demand.  Had six, three by choice, and they all made 
it to adulthood.  That doesn't say that they are all adults.  That's another 
issue.
