My partner is blind. There are things that she understands that a sighted 
person would not.

I'm sorry to have to say this, Sylvia, but I think you are being narrow
minded to make a blanket statement like you'll never marry a blind person
again.  If you can successfully deal with your own blindness, and you marry
someone who is also well adjusted to blindness, and you love each other,
there is no reason why you shouldn't have a happy marriage.  Of course
blindness has its unique challenges, and I agree that no one would ask to be
blind if we had a choice, but you shouldn't slam the door on anyone who
might be right for you.  After all, you're asking others to accept your
blindness; the least you can do is accept someone else's.
