Tom,
Which version of JAWS did you install? JFW 13 or 14?

Subject: Touchpad Disable Issue Resolved
Hi, all.
Here's an update on my newly-acquired Dell Lattitude D600 laptop.
First, I have successfully turned off the touch pad mouse. It took the
XYL's sighted assistance to get into the bios, but we ultimately were
successful. If needed, I can still use an external USB mouse, which is a
relief as well.
I do have one more dilemma I'm wrestling with, so any suggestions would be
appreciated.
Specifically, I am unable to control the volume of the laptop speakers via
the little rocker switch that is right below the monitor and above the main
keyboard.
I can control the volume by using the control key plus page up or page down,
but it's a bit clumsy.
If anyone has any suggestions for re-activating the main laptop volume
control, I'd appreciate them.
On the positive side, Jaws installed very easily onto the laptop, and
responds very well to various key commands, so I am making progress.
My next task is to start installing the various ham-related programs that I
typically use, including rig interface, and the N3FJP logging software.
Thanks again, everyone, and Happy New Year!
