Dear Dr. Tembei,

As I told you in my last correspondence, I planned to send my contribution to you through the AAM, specifically Richard Yarl, AAM's Treasurer. Since I did not hear back from them, I am now sending my contribution directly to you. Please receive through the mail, a cashier's check for $100.00. I will appreciate your acknowledgement of the check once you have received it.

Best wishes

Prof. Daniel P. Kunene

Thomson was a very beloved and active member of our Cameroon community ((Association of Cameroonians in Madison (ASCAM)) here in Madison. His untimely death has been a big blow to us in the Cameroon community, and especially to his family here in Madison.

The saddest thing about all of this is the fact that he was the sole "bread-winner" of the family because his spouse is a full-time student in nursing school in a college here in Madison. We of the Cameroon community here are trying all we can do to assist the family morally and financially to prepare and take our brother, husband and father home to his resting place in Akum village in the Northwest Region of Cameroon. We would be so grateful if any or all of us in the African community can chip in in anyway possible to help this family pay for funeral home services as well as the transportation of Thomson home to Cameroon. If you can and are able to, you can direct your donations to the fund for this cause at either:
