This year marks 20 yrs since what became the Gambia-l institution was
born. Shortly after Yahya Jammeh and his friends took power in The
Gambia, Dr. Katim Touray created an email account
([log in to unmask]) that was to forward any message it receives to
any number of addresses. Well it was not called a list then but was one
fine great innovation and the guy deserves a jerejeff (in fana fana
please) for his genius. I must say he saved many of us real money in
long-distant phone calls then. This group out-grew its home and was
transformed into Gambia-l when it moved to the University of Washington
at Seattle (thanks for Anthony Loum). The task to subscribe /unsubsribe
members was divided among many able brothers and sisters (including
Abdou Rahman Touray, Dr. Amadou Scattered Janneh, Jabou Joh, Awa Sey,
Ndey Jobarteh, Momodou Camara, Sarian Loum). Apologies if I missed your
name.
If you think you have been around long enough tell us who own these
signatures?
