Hi,
Maybe an ICOM706 would be good.
I also got a Kenwood 440s when I got into Mars in 1995. My Icom 706 is one of the newer models and has 440 and 2 meters too.
You could also get a Kenwood 570 for a good price.
They are very blind friendly and are still available.
