From what I have done with it, it doesn't seem any worse than the 706, with 
patience and time it's not bad but for part time use it would probably drive 
you crazy. Keep in mind, the bigger the front panel with the more buttons 
out on it the better to me and these are both smaller radios so there are a 
lot of multi function buttons. I wouldn't want either one as an every day 
user as long as I have a choice based on that.
