Well, now that I've gotten my call sign, I've made the sad discovery
that my uv5r plus doesn't seem to want to program in repeaters+.
I have followed the steps from the eyes free guide, but alas, the
channels don't seem to work correctly.
I get all the right prompts, and the channels seem to have programmed
in correctly, but then when I go into channel mode to check that
they're working, they default back to 136.05.
I had my wife help with the programming as well, just to make sure I
wasn't making any obvious errors, and she got the same results.
The channel appears to be programmed in right while I'm still in
frequency mode, but when I go to channel mode, it's invariably 136.05.
This is for simplex and repeater channels, in both vhf and uhf.
I've checked that tdr is off and that I'm in a as opposed to b countless times.
I've reset the radio to factory defaults and set up everything from
scratch, but the problem persists.
I hope I can get it fixed and that I didn't get a lemon.
Has anyone ever seen this with the uv5r? My next step is to hit up
the baofeng yahoo group, but I hesitate to do that, as I already get
hundreds of emails per day.
Thanks for all the congrats on my callsign, and any advice.
