Well, please don't get the following wrong, but here's what happened, when
the same ham had exactly the same piece of equipment for sale a while ago.
After reading the offer, I picked up the phone immediately and talked to
him. He said, he would be getting back to me, but I never heard anything.
After several days, I contacted him again by Email and he simply replied by
saying, that instead of shipping the TW1 to me, he had sold it to someone
around the corner. Yes, shipping stuff overseas is a little more complicated
than to an address in the U.S., but it can be done. If someone from overseas
is even the first wanting to buy the equipment right away, that person
should get it and not someone from around the corner who may have responded
later. If you don't want to sell your gear to someone from overseas, just
say so in your message. After all, ham radio is international and so is this
mailing list. Needless to say, I wasn't happy. Brian, I am sure, you are
reading this message too. I only think, it's fair enough to let prospective
buyers now, if you have already sold the thing or not.
