What broke? The plastic mic holder on the base? IF so, a friend of mine has
one of those that broke as well when the mic was knocked off his desk and
when Kenwood told him they couldn't get the part, pure BS since the mic is
still made, but anyway when they told him that he went to a local music
store and got something close. I don't think it had the slotted mount where
it connects to the shaft so he had to use a different nut and bolt setup
with a rubber spacer to hold it at the angle he wanted and make it
adjustable but it was only a $5 fix. I don't know why Kenwood won't sell you
the part but that is an option. My friend has been using that setup now for
over 10 years but I can't see why mic holders would change, you have to be
able to do something similar if you want. I haven't had that problem yet so
can't say though I actually did have to do something similar with my MC-50
after moving and I actually got off cheaper.
