I find if you don't run the amplification with the MC-60 you usually don't
have the RF issue and I see no reason at all for the amplification, with my
TS-2000 I have it with no amplification, mic gain around 70%, FM mic gain
high and no problems at all. If I run the amplification I find in order for
it to sound good I need to back the mic gain down and it picks up all kinds
of background noise. I'm in a trailer, it's great for RF not getting back in
but far from sound proof within. I'm sure the heil mics will sound good as
well, the big problem with the 480 is that wiring issue with the grounds
being reversed. I'm sure heil would have a cable to fix that for their mics
if they need it. I used to have a real hifi setup, w2ihy equalizer and what
not but over the years finances got tight, space got tight, interests
changed and now I'm back to basics.
