I first got on phone in 1966 on A.M. with my DX-60. I don't remember a lot
of really bad behavior back then, even over the issue of A.M. vs. SSB,
although admittedly the war was winding down by then. However, I remember
handling some emergency traffic back in the late 1980s, and there were some
folks harassing the emergency net on 20 meters. That would have been
unheard of back in the '60s. I think the overall behavior has gotten worse,
although admittedly I work mainly CW where folks have always been mostly
well behaved as someone pointed out.
