I hadn't been reading these messages all until this morning so am a bit behind.

I'm an audiologist and speech pathologist. I've used Morse with some clients
who had had strokes with fair success. The problem is that ofthe the language
center is effected such that all forms of wrinting and language including
speech, Morse, writing, typing, etc. are all effected but not always. Also,
very simple "yes/no" systems can often be worked out. There are other systems
that involve alpha eeg etc. but those are probably not appropriate at this
point. I would definitely try some sort of finger or toe or other body part
signaling and not give up after the first try.

This is all very sad. Kevin and I were born in the same year. Whenever someone
your age becomes ill it surely makes you pause.

This evening at Mass Dee (my wife) will light a candle for Kevin and we will put
him on the church prayer list. We will also have him put on the healing Mass
list for this weekend.

Tom
