Thanks for the good wishes. Power was restored here Sunday afternoon. That
was day 13 without power.
I highly recommend portable home generators. Not only can they run the ham
shack but can run other essential services. By the way, as a blind person
with no need for gasoline for cars or lawn mowers, I didn't want to store
gasoline for long periods and risk it turning bad. So, I found a propane
generator that runs on the 20 pound tanks used for BBQ grills. It worked
great and has no fuel storage issues.
Now all that's left is to get the HF antenna back up. Maybe next weekend.

Hi Jim and all who were impacted by Hurriane Sandy, I hope that you all get
your power back and that all of you are safe.
I know that most of us cannot know what you endured because we have never
experienced such an event.
I am glad that there wasn't more loss of life.
I am sure that the loss of possessions and special cemorabilia will be
difficult to endure.
I am praying for all who have experienced Hurricane Sandy and xs' aftermath
including the Storm which followed.
I hope everyone will be careful when trying to get things back together.
