I will be creating an audio demo soon. However, I will forward the steps I
used.

Subject: BAOFENG UV-3R - Question about Channel and frequency Mode

Hello my friends,

I got my UV-3R radio programmed so that when I turn it on, it is on the NOAA
weather frequency. Now, I have noted that by default the radio does not
switch channels when I lift the Dial knob and turn it; it switches frequency
by step.. The buttons on the front of the radio I am familiar with:

From left to right:

Power, U/V, Menu, and Volume.

I will be programming some additional channels later but I have one in and I
am working on finding some local repeaters to try it out.

Thus, I have successfully been able to program the UV-3R using JAWS and a
very interesting set of steps.

Any help getting the channels switched would be appreciated.

I have the main setting to Channel mode but that does not seem to get it to
be on channel mode rather than freq mode. My daughter looked at it but she
can't tell because pressing the U/V button switches the frequencies on the
display. I did not get an opportunity to ask how the changes occur. When
the U/V button is pressed, the freq on the bottom moves to the top and vice
versa.
