it comes down to personal preference at the end of the day with most of the
chinese HT's.
That, and price point. The baofeng's are still half the price of the
wouxuns, so that could well be the deciding factor...and, honestly, the
baofeng uv5R is very comparable to the wouxun D1P or d2P...there are
differences, but they are very similar in their functionality.
the wouxun is a bit chunkier in the hand, so it feels a bit stouter if you
will. Perhaps a little more resistant to drops and hard use than the
baofeng radio.
The keypad on the uv5R might be a bit easier to feel, it's slightly more
tactile because the buttons are sharper...raised up and very defined
edges...whereas the wouxun buttons are a little more rounded and
flatter...perhaps harder to feel if you have any difficulty with the feeling
in your fingers.
