No, for who knows what reason, they are on 17 meters, but
not on 12. And, as Lloyd said, they are no longer on 6
meters.
I have never learned why they dropped 6 meters, but I have
always been of the opinion that discontinuing those
transmissions was rather short sighted on their part.
When they were on 6 meters, I would often hear them up there
when no other signals were present on the band here in
Mississippi. I often used the 6 and 10 meter signals to
practice typing CW on the Perkins, because there was rarely
any QRM up there.
Before 10 and 6 meter beacons became so plentiful, W1AW
would also serve that purpose quite well.
