I have a 30 amp Samplex switching supply I got several years ago
at my local HRO. Sorry, I don't know the number other than it is
a 30 amp continuous switching supply. It does have a fan but
it's temp controlled and only comes on
when necessary. I power both a TMV71A and TS-480 at the same
time with the supply and have never had any issues with it
including no RF interference far as I could tell. If I ever
suspected RFI, on Hf, I hooked my 480 directly to a garden
tractor battery and turned off the Samplex supply. I still heard
the supposed RFI so it wasn't being generated by the AC supply.
I think the unit cost somewhere around $130 US. Good luck and

Subject: power supply and power pole recommendations with the
tmv-71a

Good Afternoon List:

I'm finally in the position where I will soon be ordering a
Tmv-71a for use
in my apartment and mobile. I found a 40-amp Diamond switching
power supply
from Associated radio. Would this supply work well, or is there
another
recommendation I should follow? Also, I was considering getting
Anderson
power poles for this as well. How many sets will I actually
need? I've
never seen those actually set up before so I'm not sure if I need
a set for
the power supply and a set for the radio itself. How difficult
are those to
set up? Thanks for any help and suggestions.
