Hi Don,
Well, I have been using the Butternut antenna for over 12 years with good 
success.
I have the HF9 plus I have added the 160 coil at the bottom.
It does well with DX but not as good as a dipole for short hops.
I only wish I had room enough for a 75 meter dipole.
I have about 500 feet of radials under it as well.
I would consider this one if were you.
