I wanted to share this article in the event anyone would be interested or may have some experience with these antennas.

> Omega-Tec, a company located in Jackson, MS. has just announced that a new product line of VHF and UFH antennas has just been released for sale. 1. The antenna(s) require(s) no configuration or other adjustment by the user. 2. The size of the Omega-Tec VHF 2-2D is similar to the typical OEM “rubber” antenna n length and is flexible over most of its length. 3. There is a slight “uniqueness” about this antenna as it is a “multi-mode, dipole/mono-pole” antenna that is designed for use on a handheld VHF transceiver. Combining the use of an extremely electrically short vertical dipole with a loaded mono-pole on a handheld VHF transceiver is unique. 4. The Omega-Tec VHF 2-2D Antenna is approximately 8.5” from base to tip. 5. The connectors currently in use are male and female SMA units that were selected for compatibility with a large population of 2 meter Amateur and commercial (business/police/fire/etc.) VHF-High band. Current product offering(s) 2-meter (HAM)/ VHF Antenna • Frequency: 144-148 MHz • Delivers slightly more than twice the effective radiated power of typical OEM standard ‘rubber type” antennas. • Center frequency SWR of (typically) 1.25:1 • 2:1 SWR bandwidth of 11 MHZ • The feed point impedance is nominally 50 ohms at the operating frequency. • 3 db gain over the typical OEM antenna VHF Antenna (Center Freq: 220 MHz) • Frequency: 215-225 Mhz • Delivers slightly more than twice the effective radiated power of typical OEM standard ‘rubber type” a antennas. • Center frequency SWR of (typically) 1.25:1 • 2:1 SWR bandwidth of 20 MHZ •The feed point impedance is nominally 50 ohms at the operating frequency. • 3 db gain over the typical OEM antenna UHF Antenna •Frequency: 450-470 MHz • Delivers slightly more than twice the effective radiated power of typical OEM standard ‘rubber type” antennas. • Center frequency SWR of (typically) 1.25:1
