Re dogs/wolves:-

Maybe, except that while dogs have been proven to follow commands from humans better, wolves are actually more intelligent than dogs(indeed, they have 30% larger brains than dogs). So, left on their own, most dogs would die out, other than those which were closest genetically to wolves.
