wow, I never knew there were absence seizures. I get these things, and go into staring into space, and the only way to get out of it is to force myself to blink or move my eyes. usually i need to put my hand to tap my forehead or rub my eyes.
Thanks,
Tamar

Hi Mike,
I suspect - it's a measure of degree - a seizure is simple your
neuron's firing randomly - the degree comes in when they cause other
neurons to fire - when tons go off - it's a grand mal seizure - when
fewer go off it's a spacing seizure and perhaps and when only a few go
off - it's a tick or twitch. Amber's absence seizures became twitches.
Absence seizures are pretty easy to miss. Looks like just staring into
space.

Are spasms called seizures? If so, I've seen them (heck, I've had =
them),
but when I was at the Matheny School in NJ from 1960-1971, I never saw =
any
of my friends there have any type of seizure. I've seen people with =
Ataxia,
but thought those symptoms were normal. I learn something new every =
day.
