I digress but I'll try to explain

It depends how the headline is sung. With what cadence etc

To me it is sung in a sarcastic tones

 Ok okay maybe it is what is going on in my head as I read it.........

I still say it was too flippant........

For heaven's sake, why?  Because they used "spastic" in the title line?
It's been at least a generation since the word had any darker connotation
than a ditzy klutz (at least in the US).  Now, the deck hand with the AR
capping rounds at this clown...that's a good reason for a scathing email.
