Well, it can't do much of anything more. Scanning recognition might be a
bit more inaccurate because of the folds in a book. The one thing it does
do nicely, actually two I guess are:
1. It is more compact for conserving real estate.
2. If you scan books, it is a lot easier on the binding unless you have a
Bookedge scanner. If you set OpenBook to automatic scans, you can scan with
the Perl and just allow a few seconds between pages so you can turn the page
and it will automatically scan the new page. With that auto-scanning, you
can scan your page in five or ten seconds per page instead of forty seconds
per page using a scanner.
