I have a PC running Win7 Home Premium, on which I need to update Java
to a current version (Jave 7u45 is what java.com ig handing out
today...)
I can dowbload the bit that downloads the installer just fine, but it
seems that the installer it downloads fails without producing any useful
diagnostics...
Control Panel->Uninstall A Program shows Java 7u7 currently installed,
but attempts to uninstall it also fail with no clue. And java.com's
"How to uninstall Java from Windows" links to an uninstaller which is a
Java applet, and so fails to run -- apparently it assumes that you'll
never need to remove Java unless the installation you have works...
So: At this point, I;m hoping that the 7u45 unstaller WOULD succeed
IF I could get rid of 7u7. Can anyone connect me with instructions for
doing so manually?
