hello howard, the dec express power connector is a very weak spot on 
the unit, and after a while the solder joints break and you end up 
with a intermittent connection.  the power jack should have been 
physically mounted rather then relying on the solder joints to hold 
it.  if you want it repaired you can call joe ching at (425) 355-4209 
and talk to him.  he was repairing the dec expresses.  take care, c u mike
