I didn't mean to imply that Handihams currently had any information about
the uva-5r transceiver available on its website. My point was that it
seems like many of you are developing some really excellent operating
instructions, set-up suggestions, lots of helpful information that could be
of tremendous benefit to others that might be interested in purchasing one
of these radios.

I'm thinking about other blind hams, including any one of us, who might
decide to purchase the uva-5r sometime down the road, and could greatly
benefit from all of the fantastic information you all are developing about
how to set-up and operate one of these radios if you are blind.

If this information were all gathered up and organized and made available
in a single document that was accessible from some easily accessible
source, like Handihams, it would be a great contribution to all blind hams.
I would volunteer, but it would be much better if it were one of you who
have purchased the radio and worked through the various challenges of
setting it up and making it functional for a blind ham. It might be a
matter of taking the set-up and operating instructions that come with the
radio and editing them where appropriate to make them more useable for a
blind ham and then, publishing the revised instructions with the title:

Setting Up and Operating the UVA-5r Transceiver if You are A blind Ham

If someone offers to do this, I will be glad to be a reviewer to assist in
a final edit for readability. It is always good to have another person,
especially someone who is less familiar with the subject, to review the
writing for clarity.
