I'm not sure if I saved the article or not, but I read one the other day 
on such a comparison.  I own both.  The 590 has better receive and a 
much better dsp.  The 2k isn't all a bad radio, but it is a bit of a 
compromise, not quite as good as the 590, but does have the other bands.
  Also, the 590 speaks a little more.  I kept the 2k for 2 and 440 ssb.
