Regarding the distinction between round table vs. net, I tend to agree with 
you.  The 20-meter Sunday afternoon activity was always envisioned in my 
mind as a net, since relays are often needed, and because of thee necessity 
to keep general order under greatly varying propagation conditions.  40 
meters is usually a bit more predictable, and I think more people can hear 
each other--hence, the round table idea.

I certainly don't want to get bogged down with semantics here, but as long 
as we keep the differences between the bands and likely propagation patterns 
in mind, we should be ok.
