Hi, Steve.
While I can't comment on that particular URL, the type of warning you
are seeing is definitely not the norm for Firefox. Firefox normally
updates itself automatically, with little or no prompting from the user.
In more recent versions, the only indication you will have that an
update has taken place is that, when you load Firefox, you may hear a
message indicating that Firefox is checking compatibility of your
addons, or words to that effect. This message will disappear quickly
and, after perhaps five to ten seconds, Firefox will load. Beyond that,
Firefox rarely prompts the user for any type of intervention. Sometimes,
while you are on a Web site, it may deliver a dialog indicating that a
new Firefox update is available and pressing the tab key will take you
to a button with a message like "update to Firefox 47.0.1" However, even
if you don't choose to activate that button, the program should
eventually update. The type of announcement you are describing is likely
not from Firefox and may be a pop-up from a Web site trying to trick you
into downloading or installing what may be a form of malware.
