Bill:
Don't plug the P-8 and P-9 connectors upside down.
Every different color wire is a different and essential
voltage.
Get a power cable extension. Has female sockets
at one end and male connectors on the other. Should
only cost a couple of dollars. Available at electronic
or computer stores, I would think.
Your next choice is to get a power supply with longer
cables or an ATX power connector. But at this point,
just consider an ATX case.
