Hello Everyone,

I apologize in advance for any possible duplication...

Besides the libraries of Timbuktu, you will hear of manuscripts in other parts of Africa such as Ethiopia, Lamu (Kenya), Northern Mozambique, and Djenné. You will also hear of other African scripts such as Swahili, the Bamun script (developped by King Njoya in Cameroon), Vai (Liberia).

Scroll down to the bottom of this page for a BBC radio broadcast on the Timbuktu libraries and other African manuscripts:

The page itself provides an overview of the digitization project of the manuscripts of Djenné, Mali by the British Library Endangered Archives.

Best,
--Emilie
