The program Dan mentioned is from RT Systems, a company that has made
good third party programming packages for many years.

I used their software for the Yaesu VX5 during the time that I owned
that radio from 1999 through 2002, and it worked very well with Jaws.

I may just have to buy their software for the Wouxun.

The website for the company where Dan bought his software is
powerwerx.com.

The spelling of the site is P O W E R W E R X.

    I ordered the program Wouxon programmer with cable and it worked =
just fine. the free program didn't work well for me. It is around =
$49.00.=20
I purchased it through a company called Power Works.

  it does so how do you drive it around? JAWS13 and Win7 on this
machine =
but I'm damned if I can tell
  what I am doing with that bloody software. I'd like to be able to
use =
that software if possible as
  programming that radio manually can be a right pain in the arse!

      first depending on who you bought it from you may get it open =
across =3D
  =3D3D
    its range so be mindful of that
      and don't accidently transmit on the local NOAA freq. You're =
going =3D
  to =3D3D
    find that the 6 radios are
      narrow band compliant. This means the transmiter will also =
transmit =3D
  =3D3D
    FMN and the receiver will tune
      FMN as well. In the frequency step menu which is menu 1 option
0 =
=3D
  will =3D3D
    set your tuning step to 2.5
      kHZ. My 6d appears to skip menu 27 and I cant get any guidance
as =
=3D
  to =3D3D
    why this is so I will be
      interested to see if yours does the same thing. Like all of
these =
=3D
  =3D3D
    radios, yours will come up
      talking so no problem there. The 6d looks feels and acts like a
=
=3D3D
    commercial radio even down to the
      carrier drop. Anyone who has had any experience with Motorola
or =
=3D
  =3D3D
    Vertex commercial radios should
      know what I am talking about. In closing: In my experience and
I =
=3D
  =3D3D
    have only had the thing just
      under 2 weeks it won't take you long to get it up on the air at
=
all. =3D
   =3D3D
    One more thing about the
      menus; The menus you are likely to use most frequently are the =
ones =3D
  =3D3D
    which are communicative.  Menus
      1 2 3 4 7 8 9 and the menus which control offset offset
direction =
=3D
  and =3D3D
    memory reading and writing.
      Hope that helps and let us know how you get on. =3D3D20
