Hi Mike, and welcome to the list.

A bunch of us here have used these rigs and I'm sure you will get a lot
of info on them. In a nutshell, the 570 has been out of production for
a number of years and can only be had on the used market. The 480 has
been out for 8 years or so, and is still in production. The 590 is the
newest one and has been out around 2 years.

A lot will depend on how much you want to spend, and what you want to do
in the hobby. The 570 and 480 have slots for optional filters, while
the 590 is all loaded from the factory.

The 590 gives the most speech readout using the optional voice board,
while the 480 offers a bit less, and the 570 less than that. A number
of blind hams use radios with no voice readout at all and have done so
for decades, so it's not the end of the world if a radio doesn't speak
as much as the 590.

While I've never had a 570, I currently own a 590, 480, and a TS-2000.

Good luck, enjoy the hobby, Steve KW3A
