Subject: AAM 2014 Board Elections
AAM Members:
You have now received in the mail (or will soon) your official notice
of the AAM Annual General Meeting. Please note the following procedures
for nominating potential candidates to the Board.
The following basic procedures for nominating members for election to
the AAM Board apply to all nominees, including current Board Members
who wish to be re-nominated:
1. All paid-up members are eligible to nominate someone for
election to the AAM Board. (To be able to vote and be voted for,
members
must be registered and must have paid their membership dues by time
of
election).
2. All paid-up members are eligible to be nominated for election
to the AAM Board.
3. All candidates must each be nominated and seconded by paid
up members in writing to the AAM Election Commission.
4. Prior to nominating a candidate, please contact the person
you wish to nominate and obtain their permission to put their name in
nomination. If nominee agrees, send the nomination in writing (email
acceptable) to the AAM Election Commission via
Abiodun Lesi, ([log in to unmask]).
5. All nominees must also send a letter or email to AAM's
Election Commission stating their interest in serving on the Board and
commitment to the time constraints required, namely
I. One BOD meeting per month (approximately 2
1/2 hrs.)
II. Chairing a Board committee, recruiting
committee members, holding regular committee meetings and managing the
committee responsibilities.
III. Supporting and participating in all major
AAM
activities.
IV. Promoting the goals of AAM and recruiting new
members to AAM.
6. All nominees must also have a “second” to their nomination sent
in
writing (email acceptable) to the Election Committee.
7. Nominees are encouraged /expected to be present at the AAM
AnnualMeeting.
8. All nominees in attendance at the AAM Annual Meeting will
be requested to present themselves to the membership present.
All interested members, including eligible current board member(s),
