As Salaamu Alaikum,
Recently, I sent out an email about a 4 year old child who had a great
amount
of knowledge. I went to go hear him speak today at the mosque and after he
spoke the Imam told us that what we had heard about him at the Friday prayer
was not true. The Imam invited the boy to stay with him in his home and
during that time, he found out that much of what he had been told about the
boy was untrue. The boy is actually 9 years old and he only has a few
surahs
from the Qur`an memorized. The speech he gave is the only one he knows and
he nas memorized it and goes to different places saying it. When he is
asked
questions related to deen, he cannot answer them. The Imam exposed all of
this to the mass of people who showed up because he feared that it would
cause fitnah among the people. In the history of Islam, only three have
spoken during infancy and for them to claim that he has spoken from the age
of five months can cause confusion throughout the land. I sincerely
apologize to everyone for the confusion and I pray that Allah and you will
forgive me for helping to spread this falsehood.
Fi Amanilah,
Halla Salem
