I don't think most repeaters with auto patch, when I got in to ham radio
would let you make long distance calls and I know the one that still has it
can do it but I think they have unlimited long distance now though I'm not
sure exactly how. It sounds pretty clear though and around here standard
phone lines always have a buzz so I'd say it's probably some sort of voip
phone system they're using.
