The K3 and KX3 are very different radios.

Where the K3 is a traditional superhet receiver with software-upgradable =
features, the KX3 is a fully software defined radio with a direct =
conversion receiver. Where the KX3 is optimized for low current draw and =
portability, the K3 is optimized for very high performance, though the =
KX3 is no slouch in this area.=20
