Hi Howard,
Yep, you're assumption is correct. I'm sure looking forward to getting that 1 quarter inch adapter, and pluggin in that awesome code key!
Well, from what I have read, all the snake antennas are, is just a piece of coax, with the one end having the pl259 connecter, and nothing at the other end.
I'm looking forward to trying it out tonight again, and seeing how it gets out on different bands.

  I assume the plug on your key is an eighth inch or 3.5 millimeter size.  You 
  can get an adaptor from Radio Shack to convert that to a quarter inch plug.
