The power cable that plugs in to the 6 pin port on the back of the radio 
disables the internal tuner in the radio so the tune button on the radio 
works the external tuner, not the internal one as long as the cable is 
plugged in to that tuner jack. Are you sure the mfj tuner is set for the 
right antenna jack? Are you sure the coax to the antenna is good? Here's a 
real good one, is the split on in the radio set to a transmit frequency the 
antenna can't handle? Just stuff to check.
