Jim,

The 480 gives much more feedback than does the 2000, and the 590 gives more 
feedback than does the 480.  The 2000 reads frequency, s-meter, and menu 
settings, but does not read PL/CTCSS or power or mic gain.  I found the lack 
of speech in the 2000 to be very frustrating after having seen the 480.
