Hi,

You can run a 50 watt output two meter rig from the cigarette lighter socket 
as it draws just under 10 amps.  I've done this for years!  I wouldn't go 
any higher power though.

The cigarette lighter socket in the car is fused at 10 amps at the absolute
most and wired for that if you're lucky, never run high power with a mobile
powering it that way. I wouldn't go off low power personally powering it
that way.
