Hi Howard,
That's alright, no prob answering your questions, for sure!
I got the modem in February, 2007.
Yep, the modem is the one that stands up vertically.
It's 8 inches tall when it's standing up.
Yep, it's the standard modem provided by A T &T.
I have no idea about the wireless capability on it.
I'm not sure about how to access the modems configuration and setup. I would think you have to go into the control pannel in windows xp, and click on modems.

  Harry,

In trying to figure out which modem you have, how old is it?

From your description, it sounds like it stands up vertically?

Also is it about ten inches tall and deep from front to back?

You didn't answer my question as to rather you paid extra for this or is it
  the standard unit supplied by A T & T?

  Does this have wireless capabilities?

So far, I think you may have the 2 wire Home Portal 1000 if it is more than
  4 or 5 years old.

I know I am asking a lot of questions, however, do you know how to access
  the modems configuration/setup?
