It's a crazy dance--trying to keep up with updates! By the way, does anyone
know what version of Internet Explorer JAWS 7 can handle? My husband has IE6
right now and I need to upgrade it but can't remember whether Jaws 7 will
work with IE8 or only IE7.

Subject: Re: [VICUG-L] a very strange solution!

I'm not sure that it is just FS to blame for breaking things --- over
18 years of computer use I have learned to be very careful about what I
download and when I download it.
There's a new(er) version of Java that I haven't downloaded yet because I'm
not sure that it will work with my old and cranky version of Windows and
Jaws --- and honestly, I haven't seen the need for it in regards to the web
work I do.

There is a new version of various Google products rolling out and they're
keeping up with the Microsoft releases and Not supporting the older versions
of programs such as IE8. That will relegate users who've got no finances to
the "back door" or the trash can depending upon what system they're running.
My point is basically that we all have to be either creative or rich, by my
finances I have chosen creativity.
:)
Just think, a book printed on paper either in print or braille is still
useful after many years of services while our 10 year old machines are too
big to be doorstops...
